The Book

Purpose in the Pain is an unapologetically honest account of my life story of abuse, crippling fear, pain and suffering. More importantly it demonstrates that there is always hope in the midst of our deepest despair. It identifies how without successfully setting boundaries with everyone we encounter; anyone has the potential to become an abuser on our journey. Forgiveness for oneself and others is one of the abiding elements to overcoming life challenges along with understanding self-worth.

It is Admirable

This memoir is as real as it gets when talking about issues of abuse and emotional neglect. The author speaks with confidence, authority and conviction, observing not just the world but herself as well. It is admirable that she takes responsibility for her actions while maturely highlighting what is going wrong at certain points in her life.  S. Benton
