The Book

Purpose in the Pain is an unapologetically honest account of my life story of abuse, crippling fear, pain and suffering. More importantly it demonstrates that there is always hope in the midst of our deepest despair. It identifies how without successfully setting boundaries with everyone we encounter; anyone has the potential to become an abuser on our journey. Forgiveness for oneself and others is one of the abiding elements to overcoming life challenges along with understanding self-worth.

The Vision

It’s time to share:

I spent many years suffering domestic abuse and violence at the hands of those who claimed to love me. Feeling isolated, alone and ashamed; I suffering in silence and I did not know where to turn for help. When the years of abuse became unbearable, it led me to ask God to take my life as I really did not feel I could take it anymore. Thankfully God had other plans and was working behind the scenes to bring me out of the situation. At the time I had no idea that there was purpose in the pain which has now led me to encourage others to share their stories to uplift and inspire those still struggling with a myriad of life issues. Without a voice or outlet to express oneself it is easy to become convinced that you are the only one suffering, but you are not alone and there is light at the end of every episode of darkness.

In God’s divine plan He ensured that I was connected to a group of Christian women who were real about their struggles especially in relation to marital issues. It was like a breath of fresh air knowing that others experienced issues behind closed doors and had overcome and were able to remain in their relationships. I knew my story was much darker but as I was assured of the confidentiality within the group, I slowly started to reveal a little of my heartache which eventually led to me having the courage to leave my dire situation, my miserable existence. If it were not for these women I may not have survived.

So, I want to be able to offer the same for women today, an online connect group where we can encourage each other through, sharing, prayer and advice gained via expertise or simply through life experience.
